5. GENERAL INFORMATION:-

A) The rule of reservation of appointments is applicable to this post and the distribution of thevacancies will be as per the rule in force.

B) The number of vacancies advertised is only approximate and is liable to modification withreference to vacancy position at any time before finalization of selection for appointment.

C) CERTIFICATE OF PHYSICAL FITNESS:-

The post of Assistant Elementary Educational Officer is an Executive post likely to be posted anywhere in the State and they are expected to visit every nook and corner of their working area. Hence the selected candidates will be required to produce a Certificate of Physical Fitness for Executive post from a competent Medical Authority and the standard vision required for the post is Standard - I and also Colour Blindness will be a disqualification.

D) Reservation of appointments to Destitute Widows and Ex-Servicemen will not apply to this recruitment.3

E) Any claim relating to the selection (not related to candidature or/and claims made in the application) should be received within 90 days from the date of announcement of results.Claims received thereafter will receive no attention.

6. QUALIFICATIONS:-

(A) AGE (as on 01.07.2011)

(i) Candidates should not be over 35 years.

(ii) Candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste / Scheduled Tribe should not be over 40 years.

(B) EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION:

Candidates should possess the following qualifications on the date of Notification viz.,25.10.2011

1. Bachelor’sDegreeofaRecognizedUniversityoraDegreeofequivalentstandard

(B.A. /B.Sc. / B.Litt.) with Tamil, English, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry,

Botany, Zoology, History and Geography through 10+2+3 pattern. AND

2. B.Ed. Degree of a Recognized University in the State of Tamil Nadu or a degree of equivalent standard.AND

3. MusthavestudiedTamilunderPart–IorPart–IIuptoSSLC

(C) EQUIVALENT QUALIFICATION:

If a candidate claims that the educational qualification in the subject possessed by him / her is equivalent to though not the same as those prescribed for the appointment, he / she has to produce the letter of equivalence issued by the competent authority of the University which has awarded the degree. However, the claim would be subject to the decision of the Equivalence Committee constituted as per G.O.Ms. No.441, P&AR(R), Department, Dated 20.12.1993 and the decision of the Government.

 The candidate should have obtained the equivalence certificate on or before the last date for submission of the application form. The same should be produced at the time of Certificate Verification without fail; otherwise, the selection will be summarily rejected.

7. SCHEME OF WRITTEN EXAMINATION (OBJECTIVE TYPE):-

2. The Question Paper will be of Objective Type with Multiple-choice Questions.

3. The question papers for all the subjects (except languages) will be in Tamil and English.

4. The syllabi for the subjects covered will be as published in the Government of Tamil Nadu Gazette as per the G.O. Ms. No.58 , School Education (Q2) Department, dated 16.02.2009 and can be obtained along with the Application Form.

8. CENTRE FOR EXAMINATION:

Examination will be held in all the 32 District Headquarters. The Candidates may refer to the Prospectus published in the Teachers Recruitment Board Website or Teachers Recruitment Board’sNoticeBoardatDPICompound,Chennai 6forfurtherdetails.Candidatesshould appear for the examination at their own expenses. The Board reserves the right to increase / decrease the number of examination centres and to re-allot the candidates.

9. PROCEDURE OF SELECTION: -

The candidates will be short-listed for Certificate Verification in the ratio of 1:1 based on the marks secured out of 150 marks duly following Communal Reservation and subject roster. The candidates short-listed shall attend the Certificate Verification with all their original certificates for their eligibility for the post and also produce attested copies of all certificates as stated in the call letter. After Certificate Verification, the provisional selection will be made based on the marks obtained in the written examination duly following communal reservation.5 The provisional list of candidates selected for appointment will be published in the Notice Board of Teachers Recruitment Board and also in the official website viz., http://trb.tn.nic.in .

10. EXAMINATION FEE:-

The Examination Fee is Rs. 300/- (Rupees 150/- for SC, ST Candidates only). The fee is payable by a crossed Demand Draft drawninfavourof“Teachers Recruitment Board, Chennai”payable atChennai. The Demand Draftshould be enclosed with filled-in Application. The Demand draft should be obtained from any one of the following Banks: (01) State Bank of India, (02) Indian Bank, (03) Indian Overseas Bank, (04) Corporation Bank. The candidate should write his / her Name, Application Number, Subject for which applied on the reverse side of the Demand Draft. Examination fee paid will not be refunded under any circumstances.

11. ENCLOSURES TO BE SENT ALONG WITH APPLICATION:-

The application forms should be carefully filled up. The passport size photograph should be pasted in the space provided and should not be stapled. The Photograph should not be attested and it should be free from any mark, as the same has to be used for printing the Hall Tickets. The application form should not be folded. The application form and the demand draft ONLY should be submitted in the envelope issued along with the application form. Original or Attested Copies of Certificates need not be sent with the Application Form. All the Certificates will be verified only at the time of Certificate Verification only.

12. NO OBJECTION CERTIFICATE:-

If candidates are working elsewhere at the time of their applying for this recruitment should obtain the necessary No Objection Certificate and submit them at the time of Certificate Verification.

13. CONCESSION:-

Concession in the matter of age and fees are allowed only to candidates belonging to SC and ST communities.

14. ISSUE OF APPLICATION FORMS: -

A. The Application Forms along with Prospectus and Syllabus for the written Competitive Examination can be obtained in person from 04.11.2011, from the Offices of the Chief Educational Officers in 32 Revenue Districts of Tamil Nadu on payment of Rs. 50/- in cash.6

B. Candidates should use only the OMR Application Form. NO other form of typed or printed or photocopied application forms will be accepted and such applications, if any will be summarily rejected.

C. Submission of Application Forms online or by post or fax is not accepted by the Teachers Recruitment Board.

D. Application Forms will not be accepted after 5.30 p.m. on 19.11.2011.
